February 16, 2007: Fidelity's "Day on the Job"

On Friday, Feb. 16, SWS Members had the opportunity to visit Fidelity's new offices on 245 Summer Street in Boston. We visited the trading floor, heard from equity traders, and spoke with Portfolio Managers, Research Analysts and Associates. Thank you again to all the representatives from Fidelity that we met with; in particular, special thanks to Sarah Jackson from Fidelity for helping to organize the event, as well as Jane Fang, SWS Founding Partner.

SWS Members are treated to a lunch at Fidelity Investments, and hear from Sue Sgroi, the Executive VP of Human Resources at Fidelity.

We take a visit to the Fidelity trading floor and hear from Brian Conroy, an SVP and Fidelity's Global Head of Equity Trading, and Maisa Badawy, an '01 Harvard grad and primary trader.

Next, we meet with Harvard grads John Avery, a Portfolio Manager who runs the Fidelity Fund, and Jamie Harmon, a Portfolio Manager who runs the Fidelity Advisor Small Cap Fund. Mr. Harmon spoke at our final educational seminar in 2006, speaking to us about Personal Investing.

SWS Members wrap it up at Fidelity at Q&A panels with Equity Research Analysts and Associates. SWS Members are lucky enough to hear once again from Morgen Peck, a Fidelity Research Analyst and a fabulous SWS Industry Mentor.
